SCPC (Single Channel Per Carrier)
SCPC is a simple and straight-forward transmission system
which uses a separate carrier for each channel. The transmissions
are sent to the satellite continuously on a single satellite
carrier. It is commonly used for distributing broadcast
data and full-duplex (two-way) audio-video communications
in a more effective way. In fact, SCPC was the first method
used for broadcast network transmission. The satellite signal
is received at a single location in a point-to-point system,
or can also be received at many locations in a broadcast
system. This system provides hub-less connectivity among
the multiple sites. |
